Life, Death and Indulgence is an aesthetic study of objects that lived, matured and died, with focuses around the natural cycle of life. The deconstruction of ideas around what food photography can be, this series takes on a fine art approach with inspirations from old renaissance still life paintings, and with combination of modern materials and sculptural compositions, shining a new light on the commercial idea of food photography. This brings the focus on the raw, natural, local organic food, and its transformation into an indulgent and romanticised matter. Brought to life by Chef Gareth Oakes’ seasonal recipes.
